Anthem Country Club takes secure measures
Twenty-four hour security and a guard-gated entry provide peace of mind for members of Anthem Country Club, according to Steve O'Connor, vice president of sales and marketing at the Del Webb community in Henderson. "We care about the safety of Anthem Country Club members. Our community, though, is not only guard-gated, it is under constant surveillance by one of the finest home security companies in Nevada," O'Connor said. Lt. Mark Thomas, security supervisor, said a major responsibility of the security officers is monitoring all vehicle traffic in and out of the golf course community. "An average of 15,000 vehicles pass through Anthem Country Club's gates each week," Thomas said, noting that each vehicle is checked for legitimate entry into the community, and upon admittance the driver is saluted. "It's all part of the service. We also patrol all the neighborhoods around the clock. And, with a crew of 11 officers, the patrol service ensures a daily physical presence on the premises." The officers are trained in CPR, martial arts and traffic radar equipment. "Children come through Anthem Country Club's main gate every day after school. That's one reason speed limits are carefully monitored," Thomas said. "The high-caliber officers working here are as dedicated, hard working and professional as they come." The country club is part of Del Webb's 5,000-acre Anthem master-planned community. Membership includes access to recreational and clubhouse facilities including six lighted tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, swimming pools, spa and fitness center. Also featured is a 7,300-yard, par-72 golf course designed by PGA golfer Hale Irwin and architect Keith Foster. An equity (member owned) golf membership provides access to the course. Twenty floor plans in four series of homes are available, ranging from 1,275 to 4,000 square feet. Homes are priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million. Custom-home sites are also available and are located in gated neighborhoods within the guard-gated community. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Eastern Avenue and proceed south, about three miles past St. Rose Parkway. The models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
