Customizing popular at Red RockSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Extensive customizing options may account for the popularity of the floor plans at Red Rock Country Club, a Summerlin village that offers 18 home designs. "No two homes are exactly alike," sales executive Kevin Stall said. "With a blend of numerous home designs, color palettes, tile variations and architectural styles, the street scenes throughout this 738-acre community resemble those found in custom neighborhoods. "Five teams of nationally renowned architects and some of the nation's most respected interior designers worked together to create a community that's in visual harmony with this beautiful high desert area. The floor plans demonstrate a fresh approach to design, and the flexibility they offer (gives) our buyers vast opportunities to customize their homes. These homes offer an incredible degree of elegance." The available options include guest houses; courtyards with fireplaces; sit-down wet bars; and owner suites with retreats, media niches and fireplaces. In addition, the Sunsation program allows for structural changes, room configurations or additions, construction of custom swimming pools, as well as upgraded landscaping, patio and lighting designs. Two of the floor plans have been best sellers for the past two years: Plan 1102 from the Acacia Collection and Plan 3103 from the Ocotillo Collection. Plan 1102 is priced from $336,600 to $349,500. "We have found the buyers, who include families, young couples and retirees, like the variety of customizing options to choose from, including modifying the third-car garage into a sitting room," Stall said. The single-story home features three bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, and measures 2,503 square feet. It offers a living room with an optional fireplace; dining room; kitchen with a breakfast bar and nook; family room with a fireplace, media niche and optional wet bar; owner suite with an optional fireplace; and laundry room. Exterior highlights include a courtyard entry, covered patio and three-car garage. Plan 3103 is base-priced from $492,500 to $518,000. "The major appeal of (this home), which is popular with retirees and buyers who are in need of a home office, is the openness of the floor plan," Stall said. "The fourth bedroom and the optional `super den' are also strong selling points." The single-story Plan 3103 offers as many as four bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths, and measures 3,802 square feet. It features a great room with sit-down wet bar and fireplace, dining room with niche, family room with media niche, island kitchen with breakfast bar, and laundry room. The owner suite can be built with a fireplace, media niche and linen closet. The exterior offers a courtyard with optional fireplace, two trellis-covered patios and a three-car garage. A professional design staff is on-site to assist buyers. The country club will eventually comprise 1,116 homes, many of which will align its two 18-hole golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer. Both courses incorporate the foothills of the Spring Mountains with a rugged terrain highlighted by canyons, lakes, waterfalls and streams. A practice facility is also open with a double-ended driving range, putting green and chipping areas. The single- and two-story homes range from 2,100 to 5,300 square feet with as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages. They are priced from the $350,000s to more than $2 million. Custom-home sites are available in The Estates, a gated neighborhood of 86 lots measuring from 15,000 to 20,000 square feet and priced from $315,000 to $500,000. Resident amenities include a sports club, aquatic center, tennis center and clubhouse. The sports club houses fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, massage therapy rooms, locker rooms and a supervised children's play center. An expansion of the sports club, scheduled to begin soon, will more than double the size of the exercise room. The aquatic center features several pools and an outdoor grill, while the tennis center offers nine lighted, hard-surface courts. Central to the community is a 44,000-square-foot clubhouse, which provides city and mountain views, as well as views of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Casual and fine dining is available, as is a banquet facility and a meeting room offering advanced technology capabilities. There is also a pro shop and locker rooms, each with a sauna, steam room, lounge and media center. The guard-gated community is a development of Sunrise Colony Co. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Town Center Drive, and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and head west. The sales center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
