Construction crews remain on track for downtown condos
Construction of the 23-story residential tower of loft-style condominiums, Newport Lofts, is on schedule with first closings planned for spring, according to regional sales manager Sheryl Creswell. The development will be located within the valley's arts district between the Strip and downtown.
"Buyers are so excited to close escrow that they're visiting their lofts now to experience the views," Creswell said.

Offering views of the mountains, downtown and the Strip, 13 single-level loft residences ranging from 912 to 1,650 square feet, begin on the eighth floor. Penthouse designs measure 1,800 to 3,000 square feet.
Interior highlights include Italian granite counters and custom Italian cabinetry, 10 1/2 -foot ceilings, Dornbracht and Kohler fixtures, private terraces, ceiling-to-floor windows in select areas and Sub-Zero, Bosch and Wolf appliances.
"Each phase release was very well balanced, which means we have a great mix of floor plans and pricing still available," Creswell said. "We're thrilled with the level of buyer interest and our sales figures. Our available lofts are just as desirable as those offered in our first phase of sales. Same goes for the views. Buyers who have never lived in a loft are in for a treat."
California-based Seegmiller Partners is developing Newport Lofts along with Sam Cherry Development of Las Vegas.
"We purchased the land several years ago at a reasonable rate and priced the lofts and penthouses accordingly," West Seegmiller said.
"Our price per square foot is low compared to units on the Strip ... It's the ideal environment for people who are drawn to a casual California lifestyle and love the energy of the hip Las Vegas arts district. The area's essence is reflected in every aspect of the building design."
Residents will have exclusive use of a rooftop amenities deck with Jacuzzi, spa facilities, running track, locker rooms and a triangular swimming pool overlooking the Strip.
The roof deck's commercial-grade gym will feature European fitness equipment and treadmills with built-in plasma screens.
A lounge, billiards area and movie room are planned for The Newport Skyroom Clubhouse.
Rooftop gardens will offer 360-degree views.
Service amenities will include a 24-hour doorman, ground-floor retail and an on-premise enclosed garage with assigned storage units.
Prices range from the mid-$400,000s up to $1.9 million. For a limited time, the developer is offering special financing.
