Toll Bros. focuses on kitchens
Toll Bros. has created kitchen designs that allow for convenience, functionality and beauty, according to Gary Mayo, vice president for the builder in Las Vegas. "The kitchen is typically the hub of the home. ... It's traditionally the room in the home that we gravitate towards most frequently. People equate the smell of fresh baked pies and bread with warmth and comfort, making the kitchen so appealing as a family gathering spot," Mayo said. Most homes at the builder's seven area subdivisions feature the kitchen adjacent to the family room. They typically feature islands and pantries, and many have adjacent breakfast nooks with bay windows. Some homes also offer work desks and butler's pantries. "At Toll Bros., we put a lot of thought and care into the details we incorporate into the kitchen and dining areas. So much of our home life is spent there that it has to be inviting and appealing. But it also has to be well-thought out to make meal preparation and cooking easier," Mayo said. The Messina, one of four floor plans offered at Barrington in Summerlin, has a kitchen with two L-shaped counters, a cook-top island and work desk. It's breakfast area overlooks the patio and there is a door leading outside. Nearby, the formal dining area is set in a half-circle of windows. Designed with a cook in mind, the kitchen in the Stanford at Heritage Glen in Summerlin features a walk-in pantry, counter top with a work desk, second counter beside dual wall ovens, and built-in microwave. Two islands provide space for preparation, entertaining or casual dining, in addition to the breakfast area. Optional features include a wet bar, vegetable sink, second dishwasher and/or a trash compactor. The Vasari at Monterossa in Summerlin features angled walls in the formal dining room, kitchen, work desk area and morning room. The kitchen has built-in double ovens and a counter with space for seating. The dining room also has a bay window. Also at Monterossa is the Botticelli. Its kitchen has dual wall ovens, an island, walk-in pantry, and a breakfast area. A nearby dining room has high ceilings and a view of the home's courtyard. Options for the kitchen and dining room include an island sink, work desk next to the breakfast area and doors to the courtyard in the dining room. Both Barrington and Monterossa are located within The Vistas village. Heritage Glen is in the Willow Creek village. All three neighborhoods are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Toll Bros., based in Pennsylvania, is developing more than 170 subdivisions throughout 22 states.
