Family of four finds right home at Aliante

When Valerie and Jason James were ready to purchase their second home in Southern Nevada, they knew that they wanted to live in a master-planned community.

"Our former home was in a brand-new development, but there were no CC&Rs to ensure that the neighborhood would maintain a nice appearance," Valerie James said. "Shortly after we bought that home, we began to notice that some of the properties were not being maintained properly which, we felt, had an impact on the quality of the entire neighborhood.

"Based on that experience, we decided that we definitely wanted our second home to be located in a master-planned community, where there is continuity in the quality of the homes and neighborhoods, and guidelines designed to protect the homeowner's investment."

She said that they looked for a new home "everywhere" in the valley.

"We were living in the southeast valley, but when we heard about Aliante and all it had to offer, we wanted to visit as soon as possible," she said. "Once we got here, we really liked the look of Aliante, especially the Nature Discovery Park, the walking trails and all of the other recreational amenities. We were also pleased to hear that the developer, North Valley Enterprises, was an affiliate of American Nevada and Del Webb, which both have excellent reputations."

They were impressed by the models at Pulte Homes' Serenata neighborhood.

"We walked into the Plan 2665 and knew immediately that our search was over," she said. "This home has a very open design with a beautiful staircase, three large bedrooms, a bonus room, a spacious family room and a separate den. It's the perfect home for our family."

The 1,905-acre community consists of a primary and an age-qualified village, containing as many as 7,500 homes.

Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community. Homes are priced from the $150,000s to the low $400,000s.

About 428 acres have been designated for recreational and public purposes including a municipal golf course, city parks and an arroyo.

Sites have been set aside for two elementary schools, a middle school and a fire station. About 100 acres have been allocated for commercial development, including a 40-acre resort with gaming.

To visit the information gallery, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Proceed to Frontage Road and turn right, then turn left onto the interstate, exit at Aliante Parkway and go south. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
