Lifestyle important to Sun City Aliante buyers

When John and Cindy Viccica decided they wanted to get in on the ground floor of a new community, they were serious. The Viccicas were among the first to buy at Sun City Aliante, the age-qualified component of the Aliante master plan in North Las Vegas.

"We have friends at Sun City Summerlin who absolutely love living in a Del Webb community," John Viccica said. "Del Webb has a great reputation for providing good value for their homes, so we decided to buy at the very beginning of its new development.

The Viccicas have been Las Vegas residents for 11 years. When they decided to downsize, they knew a Del Webb community would fit the bill.

"We wanted the Del Webb lifestyle," Cindy Viccica said. "That combined with the investment opportunity and the community's great location on the west side of the valley made it even more appealing to us."

The couple purchased the largest floor plan, the 2,105-square-foot Coronado. Their home includes two bedrooms, two baths, a library, great room and kitchen nook. Options include a third bedroom in lieu of the library and a covered patio.

"We are really looking forward to the lifestyle above everything," Cindy Viccica said. "We're retired empty-nesters, so we want to be with people our own age with whom we share things in common. We're looking forward to getting involved with other people and groups in the community."

She plans to participate in card groups, the computer club, women's groups and travel groups when the community center opens. Her husband plans to swim at the planned recreation center and get involved with other clubs.

The community will be built around an 18-hole, 6,900-yard, par-72 municipal golf course designed by Gary Panks and Associates.

Other planned amenities include tennis courts, bocce courts, a fitness center, and club and hobby rooms.

"Although the lifestyle was one of the main reasons we wanted a Del Webb home, we also found the people we worked with at Del Webb to be nice and cordial," John Viccica said. "We even referred a friend and they have already bought a home at Sun City Aliante."

Seven models are available, priced from the $140,000s to $234,500.

A presales center is open at 7891 Tropical Parkway, Suite 120, in the Centennial Marketplace at U.S. Highway 95 and Centennial Parkway. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
