Red Rock Country Club clubhouse celebrates New Year

Some 1,500 members and guests were among the first to experience the new clubhouse at Red Rock Country Club during a special open house held on New Year's Day.

Thomas Gilbertson, the club's general manager, was on hand during the festivities, which included buffets for the guests as they surveyed the views of the golf course.

Just hours before, about 350 Red Rock Country Club members helped ring in the New Year at a gala celebration at the clubhouse.

"Our members have watched the clubhouse come together from the pouring of the foundation to the topping off, so we thought it was appropriate to invite them to an open house celebrating the New Year and welcoming our fantastic new clubhouse," Gilbertson said.

The 44,000-square-foot clubhouse offers views of Red Rock Canyon, the Las Vegas skyline and two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses. Featured dining rooms at the clubhouse are The Palmer Lounge and Garden, and The Oasis Grill.

Measuring 8,000 square feet is the sports club, which offers fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's play area.

The resort-style aquatic center features a family pool, spa, an adults-only pool, a lap pool, a splash-and-spray mini-park and an outdoor grill.

Nine hard-surface courts are contained at the tennis facility, which also includes a stadium court and five lighted courts.

The home designs include Spanish Colonial, Italianate and desert contemporary. Customizing options such as casitas, courtyards with fireplaces, sit-down wet bars, and owner bedroom retreats with media niches and fireplaces are also available.

The community's Sunsation Program aids buyers in constructing a customized home.

Single- and two-story floor plans are available, ranging from 2,100 to more than 8,000 square feet with as many as six bedrooms and a four-car garage.

Prices range from the low $300,000s to more than $2 million.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive and follow the signs.

The community can also be reached by taking Interstate 215 to Sahara and going west. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
