Sun City MacDonald Ranch director touts lifestyle

Steele Edwards, executive director at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch community in Henderson, considers his workplace an "upbeat community," referring to the lifestyle offered to its residents.

"I have been in this business for 37 years and being executive director of the Desert Willow community is the most exciting. Sun City MacDonald Ranch residents have a lot of zest and enthusiasm for life," Edwards said. "This is a fun group of people to work with ... I like the adventure of keeping up with their diverse interests."

Edwards works with individuals as well as the community as a whole, which houses the 36,000-square-foot Desert Willow Community Center. The facilities include the Desert Willow Golf Course pro shop, a fitness center, multi-purpose rooms, a social hall, outdoor swimming pool and billiard room.

Edwards prioritizes the community's lifestyle, bringing in new activities and social opportunities for the residents.

"Keeping residents happy and active within the community has kept me busy," he said. "We have a real diverse community with many different interests brewing. The key to a successful and smoothly run community is to involve the residents."

Close-out prices of homes at the community range from the high $130,000s for the Classic Series' 1,020-square-foot Roseville model, to the low $190,000s for homes in the Premier Series, which range from 1,261 to 1,562 square feet.

To visit the community, take Lake Mead Drive to Green Valley Parkway, go south to Horizon Ridge Parkway and turn east.

The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
