Rolladen users delight in energy savings

Having visited Germany, Renate and Richard Jones had seen Rolladen Rolling Shutters in use prior to installing them on their single-story home in Las Vegas.

"They are exceptional because they save so much on energy costs," Renate Jones said. "We put them on in October, and we haven't even turned on the heat yet. We just pull down the Rolladens and it's great.

"Every house comes with them in Germany. They are expensive, but they're worth it because we'll never have to worry about the power bills in the summer."

The couple had the roll-filled aluminum shutters installed on six windows and one door of their home.

The shutters are available in nine custom-made colors and professionally installed.

"They matched the paint of our home very well," Jones said.

Added benefits include reduced fabric fade and increased security, according to Las Vegas franchise owner Fran Minnozzi, who also saw the shutters while in Europe. Minnozzi has owned the franchise for more than 15 years.

Rolladens are also suitable for commercial use.

The company's showroom is located at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.
