Hockey fan settles in at Tuscano condo complex

When Judy Boese began searching for a condominium, her top priority was to be near the ice arena where her favorite hockey team plays.

After visiting 20 other subdivisions, the lifelong hockey fan skated to a stop at Tuscano, a gated community in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley that offers resort-style amenities, a health and fitness facility, covered parking and a business center.

"The well-maintained buildings and acres of landscaped grounds are really superb," said the 63-year-old, who moved to the development in October.

"The Tuscano staff works so hard and is so friendly. When the development's employees are really happy, it makes the whole place so much better."

Boese purchased the 700-square-foot Merano floor plan, one of two one-bedroom floor plans available. The walk-in closet offered sufficient space for Boese's clothes and the portable sauna she brought with her from her previous home in Mesquite.

There are also two- and three-bedroom floor plans available, ranging from 938 to 1,024 square feet.

Prices start at $143,900.

As a relative newcomer to Las Vegas, the social aspects of the community are important to Boese.

"From the time I moved in, I have really enjoyed the people at Tuscano," she said. "I've even transformed a few of my new friends into hockey fans."

The complex is located at 7255 W. Sunset Road. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
