Altare at Eagle Rock impresses former hockey player, wife

After a lengthy new-home search in Summerlin, Jason and Shannon Courtemache chose Altare at Eagle Rock by Warmington Homes Nevada. The couple moved to Las Vegas last spring when they discovered they could afford a home triple the size of their two-bedroom condo in Boston.

Three floor plans are available, ranging from 2,904 to 4,072 square feet with three to seven bedrooms and as many as five baths. Prices start from $450,000.

The Courtemaches purchased the Carmel model at the neighborhood, which aligns the TPC at The Canyons golf course.

"We loved the open floor plan of (the Carmel) and the way it beautifully utilized the space to create a free-flowing pattern with large rooms that are light-filled, airy and inviting," said Shannon Courtemache, who works in television advertising.

Jason Courtemache, a former pro hockey player who now works in radio advertising, touted the home's pie-shaped lot. He believes it can accommodate a swimming pool and the couple's two St. Bernards.

"Summerlin is a great area, but with Macey and Bogie, our two dogs, we needed a bigger yard than most of the new neighborhoods offer," he said. "When we visited Warmington, we not only found our favorite floor plan but also larger than usual lots and that's what we needed. And after seeing the walk-in master shower with the double-headed shower fixture in the model, I really wanted one of those."

Altare has eight homes available, including five with golf course locations. Buyers can choose flooring and fireplace trims, and several homes can be ready in 60 days for closing and move-in.

Some plans include a free-standing casita with private bath and closet.

To visit, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive and turn left. Proceed to Canyon Run Drive and turn left. The models and sales office are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
