Contractor buys unit at Boca Raton project

Derrick Hodson's company is the plumbing and mechanical piping contractor for Boca Raton Condominiums. So impressed was Hodson by the 15-acre project at Las Vegas Boulevard and Serene Avenue, he decided to purchase a unit as a secondary residence.

"Boca Raton is one of the largest high-end condominium projects that my company has had the pleasure to work on," Hodson said. "Having worked with two members of the development team, Stewart Simpson and Mack McKnight, during a (previous) project I felt confident in purchasing one of the units and getting in on the ground floor of development. It's nice to be able to invest in a project that you have been involved in constructing."

The $400 million development will comprise four seven-story buildings, 756 units and a pair of two-story underground parking structures.

Floor plans range from the 584-square-foot Casita unit with one bedroom, to the 2,132-square-foot Penthouse residence with three bedrooms.

Prices start from the $300,000s to more than $1 million.

"We're still selling condominiums in the first phase which allows buyers to get the best pricing available, but the homes are moving fast as buyers recognize construction costs are rising and pricing will eventually increase," said Jerry Peterson, managing partner for the project. "Our buyers are well educated in real estate and they want to lock in at the best price possible."

The first 172 units are scheduled for completion late this year.

Amenities will include walking trails, concierge service, workout facilities, a clubhouse, and resort-style pools and spas.

The sales and information studio, located at 2475 Serene Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It features a full-size replica of a Casita Suite floor plan.
