Housing Division hosts reception for young artists

The Nevada Housing Division will host an artists' reception and awards' presentation on Tuesday honoring the winners of the agency's fifth annual School Arts Competition.

More than 500 entries were submitted by first- through fifth-graders among 15 schools in Clark County. The competition's theme was "Where I Live," which required the youngsters to draw their own homes or a home in which they would like to live.

The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Sawyer Building at 555 E. Washington Ave. Winning and juried entries can be reviewed until 5:15 followed by the presentation at 5:20.

Community partners in the program are the Clark County School District, Pardee Homes of Nevada, The Venetian, and the real estate section of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Sun.
