Wanda Fish is a purchasing manager for Centex Homes. So impressed was she by the company that she and her husband, Robert, recently purchased a home at Latourell Falls, one of four subdivisions within the builder's Waterfall community in North Las Vegas.
Fish was not in the market for a new home, but she changed her mind as she watched a particular one being built. Then she told her husband about it.

"We were pretty happy where we were, but I fell in love with the floor plan," she said. "Once my husband saw it after the models were completed, he said, 'We need this house.' He loves the loft and he's set it up with all his games -- a pool table, air hockey table, poker table, big-screen TV and a wet bar. It's his palace.
"Our last house was a two story with a pool table dominating our family room, which made it pretty crowded. The open design of the house itself makes it seem bigger with the loft open to the living room. The butler's pantry in the kitchen gives us plenty of storage, and the island is the spot where the family stands and gathers. And we absolutely love the three-space garage."
The couple were also impressed by the neighborhood's amenities.
"The park at the end of our street is great for walking the dog," Fish said. "The streets are wide, the houses all have nice curb appeal, and the security of a gated community is a big plus."
All of the neighborhoods within Waterfall are gated. They offer a combined 15 single- and two-story residences, each with a choice of three exterior designs.
Latourell Falls features single-story residences, including one with a loft, ranging from 1,955 to 2,756 square feet with as many as four bedrooms. Two- and three-car garages are included, per plan.
The two-story homes at Aberdeen Falls measure 2,454 to 3,807 square feet with as many as seven bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Three-car garages are standard.
Angeline Falls offers two-story floor plans ranging from 2,539 to 3,063 square feet. One-, two- and three-car garages are available, per plan. Casitas are optional. Exteriors showcase porte-cocheres and turrets.
The single-story homes at Isabel Falls measure 1,750 to 2,227 square feet. Features, per plan, include morning rooms, optional dual owner suites and covered patios.
Waterfall is planned to include four private parks, playgrounds, a water play area, climbing wall, pools, and a recreation center with a workout area.
Prices start from the high $300,000s.
Centex offers home buyers $2,800 off closing costs when they finance through the builder's preferred lender.
