Red Rock blends with natural surroundings

The clubhouse at Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin is designed to complement the varied home designs as well as the surrounding natural terrain, which includes the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

"We're building a community of homes with architectural integrity, using the vivid colors of nature as the backdrop," Frank Countner, Sunrise Colony Co. executive, said. "Our homes and community amenities have been designed to maximize nature's beauty with features such as picture windows, balconies and courtyards."

Four series of homes are available including the Ocotillo Collection, which offers four single-story floor plans. Homes in this series range from 2,864 to 4,175 square feet. Plan 3103, a 3,802-square-foot home, has proved a favorite, according to Countner.

"This spacious, open plan is ideal for families with such features as a ... great room with fireplace and adjacent wet bar, family room with media niche, and separate dining room which can also be built as a den," he said. "It's also perfectly suited for entertaining, whether it is a casual cookout or an elegant dinner party."

The home has four bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths and a split three-car garage. Also featured is an entry through a breezeway into a courtyard, which offers two optional fireplaces. The courtyard adjoins the formal dining room and optional den through French doors and the foyer.

A great room, family room and sit-down wet bar combination are featured in the rear of the home. Adjacent to the family room is the kitchen, which has a dining bar, preparation island with an optional sink, and double ovens.

The owner bedroom opens to a covered patio and the room's entry is a circular vestibule. Amenities include a fireplace; media niche; and bath with dual sinks, a vanity and walk-in closet.

Fifteen models are priced from the $300,000s to more than $2 million and range from 2,100 to more than 8,000 square feet. Architectural styles include Spanish Colonial, Italianate and desert contemporary.

Professional designers are available to assist buyers. In addition, the Sunsation Program is available to buyers building a customized home.

Red Rock Country Club is a guard-gated community. It features the first of two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses and a practice facility.

The 44,000-square-foot main clubhouse features a pro shop, banquet facilities, a board room and two dining rooms.

The 8,000-square-foot sports club offers fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's area.

The aquatic center features a family pool, spa, an adults-only pool, a lap pool, a splash-and-spray mini-park and an outdoor grill. The tennis facility offers nine hard-surface courts, including a stadium court and five lighted courts.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Town Center Drive, and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and go west. Sales hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The developer is also building the age-qualified community of Siena in Summerlin.
