Pulte designs homes with casitas


In keeping pace with design trends, Pulte Homes has designed homes with casitas and cabanas in four of its 10 neighborhoods in the valley.

"Pulte Homes' success is based on our customer satisfaction in providing not only quality construction, but innovation in design and the use of new technology in the overall layout of the home," Lynn Galindo, director of marketing, said. "Through our research efforts we've learned that casitas enhance the desirability of a home for families with three-adult households, empty nesters and professionals who work from home."

A casita, which means "little house" in Spanish, is usually constructed separately from the main home and can be adapted for various uses. The builder has designed homes with casitas to create courtyards, backyard cabanas and pool houses. Attached casitas can be used for game and recreation rooms.

"(We) offer the casita as either an included feature or option depending on the community you select, but all of them are equipped with a full bath and closet," Galindo said.

Neighborhoods offering casitas or cabanas are Country Gardens, Willow Springs and Eden Ridge in Summerlin, and The Greens at Stallion Mountain in the southeastern valley.

Country Gardens offers 65 home sites measuring a minimum of 9,000 square feet and four floor plans, ranging from 2,747 to 3,131 square feet and priced from $299,990. The homes feature kitchen nooks, great rooms, circular dining areas, three-car garages, covered patios, security system prewiring, gas barbecue stubs and various room options. To visit, head west on Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive, go south past Desert Inn Road, and turn left on Garden Park Drive, following the signs.

Willow Springs features four single-story floor plans, measuring from 1,640 to 2,416 square feet and priced from $185,990. The plans offer two- or three-car garages, eight room options, covered patios, front-yard landscaping, and covered front entries or courtyards (per plan). To visit, head west on Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive, go north to Desert Primrose Lane, and follow the signs.

Three single-story models are featured at Eden Ridge, offering from 3,087 to 3,890 square feet and home sites as large as three-quarters of an acre. Priced from $400,990, the homes offer as many as five-car garages and patio fireplaces (per plan). To visit, take Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive, turn left and proceed to Havenwood Lane.

In the guard-gated Stallion Mountain community, The Greens is priced from $191,990 and offers six single-story floor plans, ranging from 1,970 to 2,881 square feet. The homes feature circular dining areas, great rooms, covered patios, two- and three-car garages, and covered front porches. To visit, Interstate 515 to Flamingo Road, go east, past Boulder Highway, and turn left into the community's entrance.

All models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Monday, when they open at noon.
