Family finds home at Lamplight Village

Deborah and Brian Sagert began searching for their Las Vegas dream home on their computer while living in Ohio and discovered it at Carina Corp.'s Lamplight Village at Centennial Springs in the northwestern valley.

"Before leaving Toledo, Ohio, for a new job in Las Vegas, I checked out the options for new homes. .... Carina Corp. stood out in both style and location. We even checked out the school situation in advance of moving here," Deborah Sagert said.

As the parents of two children, Tyler, 7, and Elyssa, 14, finding a family-friendly environment was important.

"The huge community park and playground is a big factor for us," she said. "Tyler loves it, and I don't have to drive to a public park for the same advantages."

Neighborhood amenities include a basketball court, sand volleyball court, paths, and mountain views. A community center hosts workshops, club meetings and other neighborhood activities.

"What we like most about Lamplight Village was its unique look," Sagert said. "Coming from the Midwest, the desert was a bit of a culture shock. All the houses looked exactly the same. Lamplight is different. It has neighborhood character."

The gated neighborhood is lined with trees, and each home has a front porch and gas lamplight.

The homes offer as many as five bedrooms and measure from 1,270 to 2,234 square feet. Prices range from $132,950 to $167,950.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 north to Durango Drive, turn right and go to El Capitan Way, following the signs.

The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Wednesday, when it opens at 1 p.m.
