Loyalty to builder leads buyers to Seven Hills
Tom and Robyn Sawyer's two-year search for the perfect home and community ended when they discovered U.S. Home's Palazzo Monte neighborhood at the Seven Hills community in Henderson. "When we got married two years ago, we owned a home which we later sold," Tom Sawyer said. "Then we started looking for the right home for us to buy together. We found that we really liked U.S. Home best, when it came to floor plans and quality, but we couldn't find the perfect location. We loved the Seven Hills area, but we really were set on U.S. Home as our builder. So when we heard that they were building Palazzo Monte, we were first in line to have a look at the new neighborhood." The Sawyers say they are purchasing their "dream home," which will measure 4,100 square feet and include a veranda with French doors overlooking their back yard and glass block treatments in the kitchen, among other options. "That was one of the things we liked ... from the beginning," Tom Sawyer said. "They let us highly personalize our home. We got to pick the granite counters, even the appliances." An avid bicyclist, Sawyer said he was familiar with the area before they bought their home. "We live near here and I ride through Seven Hills on a regular basis," he said. "I like the interesting, elevated terrain and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. It makes for good riding, as well as beautiful views. We selected a ... home site which is about 9,500 square feet and has a very open feeling. We also like the fact that there are three parks within walking distance of our home, so we have lots of nearby places to take our little girl to play." The Sawyers feel that they're getting the best of both worlds. "We expect to enjoy our home and community for many, many years to come," Tom Sawyer said. A development of Silver Canyon Partnership, the community offers a range of single-family homes priced from the $130,000s to $350,000. More than 45 floor plans are available, in addition to custom-home sites priced from $180,000 to more than $1 million. Other neighborhoods open for sales are: Renaissance and Crescendo by Pardee Homes; Capistrano, Palermo West and Naples by Kimball Hill Homes; Meridiana by Trident Homes; the Venezia and Terracina custom-home neighborhoods by Silver Canyon Partnership; and Corcovado and Portofino Custom Homesites by Nevastar Investment Corp. Villa Villagio by Astoria Homes is planned. Seven Hills features an Italian Renaissance and Spanish eclectic theme, highlighted by open areas, trees and other landscaping. Columns, arches and fountains accent the architecture of common areas. More than one-third of the community's 1,300 acres have been allocated for open areas including parks with tennis and basketball courts, softball and soccer fields, and a playground. Four city parks are situated throughout the community. The sales pavilion is located on Seven Hills Drive, which is about half a mile west of the Eastern Avenue and St. Rose Parkway intersection. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
