Sorrento debuts at Lake Las Vegas Resort

Sorrento, the newest residential offering at Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, takes center stage this weekend as it celebrates its grand opening.

Developed by MarQuis Homes, a division of Centex Homes, the gated enclave will feature 52 "nearly-custom" homes, ranging from 3,000 to more than 4,850 square feet and priced from the $620,000s.

"`Nearly-custom' allows us to offer four distinctive floor plans with up to nine optional configurations tailored to meet our clients' lifestyle desires. Such options include casitas, single-story homes, two-story homes with the master bedroom downstairs, home offices, home theaters and great rooms," Steve Green, division manager for Centex Homes Lake Las Vegas Resort, said

"After the floor plan configuration is selected, our design center team goes on to offer infinite customizing choices that include everything from surface selections and appliances to complete home furnishing options. For the ultimate in designing ease, our clients may also choose a turn-key option on their Sorrento home. With the turn-key option, our design team coordinates and supplies everything from furniture, artwork and foliage down to napkins, bath towels and silverware."

The neighborhood is located on the northern shore of Lake Las Vegas, along the greens of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay Golf Club. The Mediterranean-style homes include landscaped front yards, courtyards, great rooms, owner baths, fireplaces, dining rooms with walk-in wine vaults, and kitchens with built-in twin ovens and walk-in pantries.

Also this weekend, the lakeside villas of MiraMonte will debut its five new models within the community's guard-gated SouthShore development.

Designed by Villas at SouthShore L.L.C., a division of Amstar Homes, 23 single-story villas are available and priced from $1.45 million. Amenities include courtyards with fountains, casitas, boat docks, golf cart garages, sunken wet bars, spa tubs, steam showers, outside misted living areas, island kitchens, and multiwiring systems.

"Already more than half of the homes available at Mira Monte have been sold. ... Our overwhelming success has produced an enviable situation of the community needing additional models, and we are happy to hold their grand opening this weekend," David R. McEntire, president of Amstar Homes, said.

Other neighborhoods on the community's northern shore are: MonteCatini, offering multiacre home sites priced from $1.1 million to more than $4 million; and Vila di Lago, a guard-gated neighborhood of 147 homes measuring up to 2,500 square feet and priced from $410,000, including lot premiums.

On the opposite side of the lake, home sites are nestled in the hillsides and priced from $256,000 to $2.1 million. Also available are: the attached SouthShore Golf Villas, priced from the $340,000s with about 950 square feet, including an owner bedroom with bath, living room, island kitchen with breakfast nook, and patio; and PortaCielo, a neighborhood of 72 homes, ranging from 2,460 to 3,500 square feet and priced from $500,000, plus lot premiums.

Lake Las Vegas Resort is being developed by Transcontinental Properties Inc.

To visit, take Lake Mead Drive, seven miles east of Boulder Highway, to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. The reception center is open on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
