Residents revel at Red Rock
Members and residents of Red Rock Country Club enjoy the active lifestyle and outstanding natural setting of the community, according to general manager Tom Gilbertson. "One of the main reasons people choose to join or purchase homes within country club communities is for the social interaction with other club members. The average age of the Red Rock Country Club member is only 48, so the club's staff plans a wide variety of social activities and sports events to appeal to all ages," Gilbertson said. The country club maintains a calendar of golf, tennis, fitness, membership, social and children's events. Recent events held at the club have included a New Year's Eve celebration, a club open house and a winemaker's dinner. Members also recently spent a day golfing in Mesquite. Upcoming events include another winemaker's dinner and several golf tournaments. Social activities are centered around the community's 44,000-square-foot clubhouse, which offers elegant and casual dining with indoor and outdoor seating. Facilities are available for private occasions as well as business meetings. Also within the clubhouse are a pro shop, locker rooms, saunas, steam rooms, lounges and media centers. A separate sports club offers health and fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms, and a supervised children's play area. An expansion project will increase the size of the club's exercise room. An aquatic center features a family pool, spa, adults-only pool, lap pool, children's splash-and-spray mini-park, as well as an outdoor grill. The tennis facility provides nine lighted, hard-surface courts, including a stadium court. Tennis events are scheduled for all skill levels and ages. There are also two championship golf courses and a practice facility. Other amenities include a pro shop, locker rooms, steam rooms, lounges and a media center. Located adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the guard-gated country club offers views of the surrounding landscape. Upon completion, the country club will consist of 1,116 homes, many adjacent to the golf courses. The one- and two-story designs with as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages range from 2,100 to 5,300 square feet. The developer's staff can assist buyers with options, upgrades and floor-plan variations. Prices start from the $350,000s to more than $2 million. In addition, custom-home sites ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 square feet are available in The Estates, a gated neighborhood of 86 lots within the country club. Prices range from $315,000 to $500,000. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way, to Town Center Drive and follow the signs. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. In Las Vegas, Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing the Siena age-qualified community.
