Christopher show home toured by visitors

Nearly 900 visitors toured Christopher Homes' 10,000-square-foot custom show home at The Enclave neighborhood in the Southern Highlands Golf Club last weekend, according to Erika Geiser, vice president of marketing for the home builder.

"We had a magnificent opening and the reviews we received from visitors were overwhelmingly positive," Geiser said. "I think that's a powerful endorsement of the outstanding work of the design and construction team involved in the creation of this spectacular show home. It also serves as an example of the quality and craftsmanship custom-home clients can expect when they work with Christopher Homes."

Tours of the $7.5 million home in the southwest valley will continue through March 16. It is open to adults Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10, a portion of which will be donated to Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer of Southern Nevada.

As the official show home for the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, the property was toured by more than 5,000 conventioneers in late January. It was created through a partnership of Christopher Homes, Scheurer Architects, Design Tec, Builder Magazine and HOME Magazine.

Geiser said visitors can see the latest trends in architecture, interior design and technology, including many features new to the housing industry. The home showcases new technology in appliances, home automation and entertainment, as well as high-quality building materials, furnishings, artwork, fabrics and stonework.

The show home is one of 18 residences planned for The Enclave, a gated neighborhood with custom homes ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet. Home sites measure from about 13,800 square feet to nearly an acre.

Home prices are expected to range from about $1.5 million to more than $8 million.

Each home buyer receives a membership to Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval.

Mark Stuhmer, vice president of the builder's custom-home division, said the custom-home building process at the neighborhood is made easy for buyers.

"Christopher Homes, along with the nationally renowned firm of Scheurer Architects, will design a unique custom home for each home site. Each home will be positioned to optimize views and every stage of the custom design and build process will be handled in house by our own team of design and construction experts. We believe this will be the most elegant and exclusive custom-home neighborhood in all of Southern Nevada," Stuhmer said.

Most of the home sites align the golf course and nearly all front a private park that features a waterfall and pond.

In addition to design services, the builder provides clients with interior design consultation. The designers can help clients with elements such as electrical, plumbing, flooring, counter tops and cabinetry, as well as accessories such as window and wall coverings.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, head west and follow the signs to the entrance of Southern Highlands. The guard will provide further directions.
