Sun City, Solera team up for tour

Residents of Del Webb's Sun City Aliante and Solera at Anthem age-qualified communities have expanded their horizons by planning to tour Nellis Air Force Base together.

More than 50 residents will travel to the base next week, where Nellis' public affairs department has arranged for a video presentation, a tour of the Thunderbird Museum, as well as lunch at the Officers' Club.

Both developments maintain their own community association and announce planned activities through resident newsletters.

In addition to neighborhood camaraderie, Del Webb touts its 8-Step Customer Service Program and word-of-mouth referrals.

Homes within both neighborhoods feature the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label for efficiency. They also have met the builder's Environments For Living requirements and offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use guarantee.

Because Nellis is located within 9 miles of Sun City Aliante, a number of Air Force retirees have purchased homes in the North Las Vegas community. The neighborhood offers seven floor plans, measuring from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and priced from $257,300 to $368,000. A price increase is scheduled tomorrow.

Planned amenities include a recreation center, swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms. Tennis and bocce courts are open.

The community is adjacent to the public Aliante Golf Club.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to exit the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit and then go north. The models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Located in Henderson, Solera at Anthem offers five floor plans, ranging from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet and priced from $255,000 to $341,000, with prices scheduled to increase Thursday. Standard features include ceramic-tile flooring, raised-panel oak cabinets, ceiling fans and nooks.

Community amenities include tennis and bocce courts. Plans call for a fitness center; swimming pool; club, hobby, computer and craft rooms; and billiards.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive. The sales center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Del Webb, a subsidiary of Pulte Homes, is a leading builder of age-qualified communities. It also offers Sun City Anthem in Henderson, where 12 models measure from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet and are priced from $324,900 to $559,900, with prices expected to increase Wednesday.
