Gardeners find ideal spot at Sun City Anthem

Del Webb's Sun City Anthem is the perfect place for Nancy and Tom Byrne to share their love of gardening.

The two moved into their new home in the Henderson age-qualified community two months ago. They purchased a 2,205-square-foot Montgomery design that has three bedrooms, two baths, formal living and dining rooms, a great room, and a two-car garage with golf cart storage.

"We wanted to have a third bedroom to accommodate our grandkids when they come to visit from out-of-state," Nancy Byrne said.

In addition to the valley's mild winters, they appreciate the activities offered in Anthem Center, site of fitness, social and recreational opportunities, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public.

"There's so much to get involved in at Sun City Anthem. I've attended the Anthem Center's orientation, enjoyed the walking tracks, and am looking forward to taking a yoga class. The monthly community newsletter is filled with activities that we're looking forward to exploring as well," she said.

Additionally, the Revere at Anthem Golf Club offers two 18-hole championship golf courses.

Twelve designs ranging from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet are available. Homes are priced from $324,900 to $559,900, with prices set to increase Wednesday.

All homes feature the builder's Environments For Living technology that includes energy-saving items such as low-e windows and cocoon insulation. In addition, they have earned the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label for being at least 30 percent more energy efficient than federal standards require, and offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use guarantee.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
