Tennis club organizes at Siena

A tennis club has formed at Sunrise Colony Co.'s guard-gated Siena village in Summerlin.

The age-qualified community has four lighted tennis courts at its recently opened health and fitness center.

"There are already 25 tennis club members -- some of them really outstanding tennis players -- who meet every week to play together," said Wayne Ireland, manager of the community's 15,900-square-foot fitness center.

The Tuscan-themed facility also has a cardiovascular and weight room, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, an indoor lap pool and spa, and outdoor pool and spa. There is a full schedule of classes ranging from aerobics to yoga.

The community's daily-fee, 18-hole championship golf course, open to the general public, meanders through the desert terrain and features mountain views. Siena residents are given special rates and preferred tee times.

An 11,800-square-foot golf club will include a pro shop, a practice facility, the Siena Grille, and a dining patio.

Fourteen single-story floor plans are available, ranging from 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet. Priced from the mid-$160,000s to about $650,000, one-third of the homes will be built along the golf course.

The community is bordered on the north by West Flamingo Road, on the east by Hualapai Way, and on the west by Town Center Drive. Its southern boundary is near Russell Road.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive and go south. Models are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin.
