Californian purchases at Sun City Aliante

After living in Northern California's wine country for 45 years, Kaye Burr has relocated to Sun City Aliante in Las Vegas. She purchased two homes in the age-qualified community within the North Las Vegas master-planned development: one for herself and another for her 86-year-old aunt.

"I wasn't looking to purchase a home in Southern Nevada. A friend said I needed to come down to Las Vegas, spend a weekend and take a look at Sun City Aliante. I did and he showed me Aliante.

"That was it. Two hours later, I signed the contracts. I haven't looked back and I haven't felt homesick for California. I'm just totally happy," Burr said.

The community offers seven single-story designs ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet with as many as three bedrooms and two baths. All of the homes come with a two-car garage. Some are situated around the fairways of the Aliante Golf Club. Prices start from the mid-$200,000s.

Burr said she was familiar with Del Webb before her visit to Sun City Aliante. One of her sons took her to see another Sun City property in Georgetown, Texas.

Burr chose the Helena floor plan, which features two bedrooms, den, great room and sitting area off the master bedroom.

"I looked at all of the models here at Aliante and as soon as I walked into the Helena, I said, 'this is the one.' I never looked at another place. It was just love at first sight," she said.

Moving to Sun City Aliante brings Burr closer to friends within the community, as well as family. In addition to her aunt, one of her sons and his wife also live in Southern Nevada.

"I like the kitchen, living room and dining room being open and friendly for entertaining. I love dinner parties. I love having people around me," she said.

Community amenities in Sun City Aliante include a clubhouse with conference rooms, indoor swimming pool, game and hobby areas, billiard tables, fitness center, computer lab, tennis and bocce courts, and walking trails with scenic views of Aliante Golf Club.

All Pulte homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. With blown-in Cocoon cellulose insulation, conditioned attic spaces, 15 SEER air conditioning units and dual-pane, vinyl framed low-e windows, homeowners benefit from decreased internal and external contaminants; increased indoor air quality; decreased heating and cooling usage; and increased comfort, durability, and tightness.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 or Interstate 15 to the northern segment of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway. Go east from U.S. Highway 95 or west from I-15 to Aliante Parkway, then go north to the model home complex.

Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
