Sheila Rodriguez-Apodaca said she looked for a home for two-and-a-half years before buying at Giavanna I by Centex Homes.
"We kept looking and looking, but we couldn't find anything we liked that was the right price or in the right community for us," Rodriguez-Apodaca said. "After we saw the models at Giavanna and learned of the financing options that Centex offered, we couldn't pass up the deal. We did our home loan through CTX Mortgage, and they were really willing to work with us to get qualified."

Rodriguez-Apodaca said the home's floor plan, paired with the builder's pricing, led to her decision to purchase her home.
"The biggest thing that stands out about this house is the standard equipment that it came with -- the stuff that all the other builders wanted to charge us extra for," Rodriguez-Apodaca said. "Things like the barbecue stub in the backyard, the water-softener loop in the garage, and the low-e windows."
The new homeowner said she also appreciated the home builder's attention to detail.
"When we moved all of our furniture in, we scratched up some of our walls but the Centex construction team came over the very next day to do touch ups for us. They didn't have to do it but they did it anyway," she said.
The neighborhood is near several six area parks.
"Giavanna is close enough to everything we need, but it's far enough out of the way to avoid traffic and noise," Rodriguez-Apodaca said. "We love the private neighborhood parks, and so do our dogs."
The neighborhood offers four floor plans, ranging from 1,200 to 1,590 square feet, with up to four bedrooms and three full baths, in both single-story and two-story styles. Prices start at $265,000.
The home offers an owner's suite with walk-in closet and oval tub, family room, slab granite countertops and designer fixtures.
The North Las Vegas neighborhood is located off Pecos and Washburn roads. To visit, from Interstate 15, exit west on Craig Road and turn north on Losee Road. Travel east on Washburn and go north on Pecos. Drive east on Carla Ann Road and turn south on Summerwind Hills road to the sales office.
From Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, exit south on Pecos and go east on Carla Ann and travel south on Summerwind Hills to the sales office.
