The Collection inspires newlywed purchasers

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Estee Roces and her husband, David Vapnitsky, purchased a residence in Rhodes Homes' The Collection, located in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley, and felt it was ideal as a post-wedding dwelling.

"Just before we were married, we had been looking for a home in one of the other master-planned communities," said Estee, a sales agent for Rhodes Homes. "After the wedding, we hadn't started looking again until my mom mentioned this plan in The Collection neighborhood. She thought it had many of the things we were looking for in a home and encouraged us to go look at the model."

The couple purchased Residence 2547, a home in the Van Gogh series that contains a second-floor casita and island-kitchen layout. Named for its square footage, the single-story home offers three bedrooms, four baths, den, sitting area and great-room layout.

The casita is situated above the home's two-car garage. The additional space houses a bedroom, bath and sitting room and has its own private entrance.

"Initially, this model was sold out, so we placed our names on an interest list," Estee said. "A few months later it became available and we signed our sales contract. We are definitely happy with our decision to move to Rhodes Ranch and live in The Collection neighborhood."

The Collection offers three series -- the Monet, Matisse and Van Gogh -- in four single, two- and three-story designs ranging from 1,467 to 4,138 square feet.

The Monet series offers one- and two-story homes in five floor plans measuring 1,467 to 2,665 square feet. Select plans contain a great-room layout, loft area and separate dining and living rooms.

Ranging from 1,931 to 3,042 square feet, the Matisse collection offers four floor plans in single- and two-story designs with as many as six bedrooms.

Van Gogh offers six floor plans ranging from 2,017 to 4,138 square feet. These homes come in single-, two- and three-story plans. The designs include two to five bedroom plans, with options including libraries and lofts.

Homes in the Collection are priced from $300,000s.

The community's model park has added two new model designs in its Rembrandt series. The two-story 3021 Plan includes three bedrooms, three baths, den, loft and two-car garage. The 3431 Plan includes five bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, loft and three-car tandem garage.

The 18-hole, signature Ted Robinson-designed golf course is a prominent feature, as is the builder's 35,000-square-foot recreation center known as The R-Club, which contains an indoor workout facility with weights and cardiovascular equipment, a full length basketball court, two racquetball/handball courts, and six billiards tables.

The community will open the Fun Zone, a 10,000-square-foot water park with a 13,000-square-foot lagoon pool, three speed slides, five kid slides, rope bridges, multiple squirt gun stations and a 1,000-gallon bucket that fills and tips over every half hour. Also included are a 25-meter lap pool; two eight-person spas; a 12-person group spa; four large covered cabanas; one exterior lighted basketball court; two sand volleyball courts; four lighted tennis courts and a children's play area with activity structures.

To visit The Collection, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Durango Drive, then go south to Rhodes Ranch Parkway.

Sales offices and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, call 740-4111 or visit rhodeshomes.com.

Rhodes Homes has also developed the Tuscany Residential Village in Henderson, Rhodes Ranch in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley and the new southwest condominium development, X-it.
