Christopher lets buyers design houses at Southern Highlands

A wide range of design selections and customizing options are open to home buyers at The Christopher Collection, a luxury-home neighborhood being built by Christopher Homes in the Southern Highlands Golf Club in the southwestern valley.

"The level of customization we offer at The Christopher Collection could only be surpassed by building your own custom home," sales agent Karen Gaines said. "No other builder can offer more, including a choice of 15 award-winning residential designs and the finest available customizing features such as elevators, detached casitas, wine cellars, fireside courtyards and a long list of other options."

More than 75 percent of the 98 homes in collection have sold, according to Gaines. Most of the remaining home sites are located along the golf course.

Floor plans range from 3,072 to 6,200 square feet. Designs include single- and two-story homes, some with master bedrooms on the main level.

Prices start from the upper $400,000s to more than $1 million. The price includes a $25,000 allowance for options and upgrades in the builder's design center.

Standard amenities include a stainless steel appliance package, a choice of oak or maple cabinetry; and granite counter tops.

Home sites measure about one-quarter acre. More than 75 percent are located along the golf course. The latest release of homes sites include many with views of the golf course lake and fairways, nearby mountains and the city.

Also in the Southern Highlands Golf Club is The Villas neighborhood by Christopher. Seven courtyard homes range from 2,150 to 3,400 square feet. Many of the homes offer a variety of views.

Prices start from the upper $300,000s.

Each of the homes features a courtyard and backyard terrace. An extra floor is optional: one-story plans can be expanded to two stories, while the two-story home can be expanded to three stories.

All landscaping at the neighborhood is maintained through an association.

Southern Highlands Golf Club features a guarded entrance, roving security, concierge services and recreational facilities. It is situated within the Southern Highlands community. Amenities include a sports and fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts and a Tuscan-inspired 42,000-square-foot clubhouse.

The builder provides each buyer at both subdivisions with a social membership to the golf club, upon application approval.

Home buyers also receive consultation with an interior designer, who can assist with the selection of options.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit and go west, following the signs to the golf club's entrance. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
