Hundreds attend Mesquite's debut
Pardee's Mesquite neighborhood in Nevada Trails was visited by hundreds of people during its recent grand opening, according to Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales. "Nearly a thousand visitors wanted to see the newest neighborhood in ... Nevada Trails. Offering Pardee's innovative LivingSmart program, Mesquite homes help to meet the growing demand in Las Vegas for livability and sustainability," he said. Mesquite joins the Palo Verde neighborhood that recently opened, and the Acacia neighborhood, which is set to debut in the spring. Homes in the community's three newest neighborhoods have earned the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label for exceeding national energy-efficiency standards by at least 30 percent. They also offer myriad health and environmentally sensitive options. Mesquite features one- and two-story homes with as many as five bedrooms and three baths. They measure from 1,535 to 2,435 square feet and are priced from $262,950 to $304,450. Featuring as many as six bedrooms and five baths, Palo Verde's designs measure from 2,817 to 5,051 square feet. The flexible floor plans have courtyards and are priced from $386,950 to $471,950. Acacia homes will have as many as five bedrooms and four baths in four single- and two-story floor plans that feature courtyard entries. The residences will measure from 1,989 to 3,495 square feet. The southwestern valley community will include 13 acres of parks and trails landscaped with native and drought-resistant trees and plants. The recently dedicated Nevada Trails Park features basketball and tennis courts, playing fields, a playground, exercise track and picnic pavilion. It also is site of the Ultimate Family Home, which was featured during the 2004 International Builders' Show. Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends, the zero-energy home is capable of generating as much energy as it uses. "Many of the sustainable technologies used in the Ultimate Family Home are now offered to families in the new Nevada Trails neighborhoods. We believe these homes demonstrate the smart way to live in our desert," Landry said. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go one mile south to Robindale Road and turn right. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m. Pardee has built homes for more than 25,000 families in Southern Nevada since 1952.
