Red Rock members celebrate Super Bowl
The clubhouse at Red Rock Country Club resembled a football stadium complete with a simulated field on the floor and servers dressed in apparel from the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants, when more than 150 members and guests attended a Super Bowl celebration on Jan. 28. "Since we just opened on Jan. 1, many of our members still have not had the opportunity to see the clubhouse or dine here," Cindy Jennings, director of membership, said. "Our Super Bowl celebration was a great opportunity for members to see the club and gather in a relaxed environment to party and watch the Super Bowl." The 44,000-square-foot club sits atop a hill and offers views of nearby Red Rock Canyon, the city, mountains and the greens of two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses. The facility's design is based on a modern interpretation of Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie style, with the use of stone, art glass in desert hues, and linear roof lines. Dining is available at the club's The Palmer Lounge and Garden and The Oasis Grill, and banquet facilities are located at The Arroyo Room. The facility also features a golf pro shop; locker rooms with steam rooms, lounges and media centers; a porte cochere entrance; and a balcony overlooking the valley. Other amenities at the guard-gated community include a golf practice facility with a double-ended driving range, putting green and chipping areas. An 8,000-square-foot sports club offers exercise equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's play center. Also featured are an aquatic center with several swimming pools and a tennis facility with lighted courts. Priced from the low $300,000s to more than $2 million, one- and two-story homes are available at the country club, offering as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages. The homes measure from 2,100 to more than 8,000 square feet. They incorporate a variety of architectural styles, including Spanish colonial, Italianate and desert contemporary. A design studio assists home buyers with upgrades and options, including casitas, courtyards with fireplaces, wet bars, and owner retreats with media niches and fireplaces. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and go west. The model home complex and sales office are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing the age-qualified community of Siena in Summerlin.
