Pardee Homes donates to Shade Tree Shelter

Following up on a donation agreement, Pardee Homes of Nevada recently delivered a check for $5,000 to the Shade Tree Shelter for homeless women and children.

The builder had pledged $500 to the organization for each home sold at its Crescendo neighborhood in December, and the neighborhood, located within the Seven Hills community, sold 10 homes during the month.

"The Shade Tree Shelter has been a safe haven for women and children in crisis for many years," Ray Landry, assistant vice president for sales, said. "Just as Shade Tree has made a commitment to the women and children of Southern Nevada, Pardee has made a commitment to assist in the success of Shade Tree for many years to come."

Previous December promotions benefiting the shelter were featured at Hermosa, Westridge and Rosedale, all Summerlin neighborhoods.

The shelter has served more than 25,000 women and children in need during the last 10 years.

In addition to safe sleeping, Shade Tree provides services such as laundry, bathing facilities, crisis intervention, mental health referral, access to medical care, immunizations and activities for the children.
