Airman happy at Aliante

Scott Morrison's valleywide search for a new home ended happily at Aliante in North Las Vegas.

"I heard about Aliante last year during the grand opening and I visited the information gallery at that time," said Morrison, who moved from Germany with the Air Force last year. "The gallery and displays were extremely helpful, and I really liked the selection of homes and the location.

"Just to be sure though, I decided to look further. After a long search that covered the entire valley, I came back to buy at Aliante."

Living in a master-planned community wasn't an initial requirement for Morrison.

"After learning about all of the completed and planned amenities, the benefits associated with master-planned living became very clear to me," he said. "I like having so many conveniences close to home, such as the parks, trails and golf course."

Nearly one-fourth of the community's 1,905 acres has been designated for recreational and public purposes, including the municipal Aliante Golf Club.

Proposed plans include two elementary schools, a middle school and a fire station. About 100 acres have been allocated for commercial development, including a 40-acre hotel with gaming.

Morrison chose a single-story home in Pulte Homes' Vialetto neighborhood.

"The home I chose is just right for me," he said. "It has spacious and open living areas, lots of room for entertaining, and good separation between the master suite and the secondary bedrooms. It provides everything I need on a single level, plus there are guest quarters for when family and friends come to visit. In fact, my parents refer to my guest room as the `parents' room.'"

The community is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. It consists of primary and age-qualified villages that together will have as many as 7,500 homes.

In addition to Pulte, builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home and Pardee Homes. Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community. Home prices range from the $150,000s to the low $400,000s.

To visit the information center, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Proceed to Frontage Road and turn right, then turn left onto the interstate, exit at Aliante Parkway and go south. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
