Realty agency launches one-stop shop

Spanish Trail Realty's "super center" was designed with the client in mind, a business plan that surfaced last October as the firm's new owners finalized their purchase.

Two of the four buyers, Mitchell Reed and Norma Garcia, had worked for the developer of Spanish Trail, an upscale neighborhood in the southwestern valley. They and their new partners, Mardi Kari and Michael Winston, decided to transform the former sales office into a full-service agency.

The idea behind the super center was to provide -- under one roof -- all of the services necessary to complete a real estate transaction including mortgage, title, home inspection, appraisal, credit repair, interior design, remodeling and handyman.

CityWide Mortgage is owned by Spanish Trail Realty, however the other service providers are independently owned businesses that occupy space within the firm. Negotiations are under way to add an insurance agency, according to Reed.

"We extend the convenience and efficiency of one-stop shopping to the real estate market," Reed said, pointing out that a corporate concierge can provide referrals for any type of home-related need.

"If you have an eighteenth-century tapestry that needs to be cleaned or are in need of pool service, we can provide referenced referrals."

The office was remodeled to include an espresso bar, which is part of a kitchen adjacent to a reception "living area." A loan officer doubles as the barista.

The company is comprised of two divisions. Garcia heads the CityWide division, which focuses on residential properties including new and repossessed homes, as well as property management and commercial properties. The Elegant Homes and Fine Estates division, overseen by Winston, specializes in luxury and country club properties.

Reed is director of marketing, while Kari is chief financial officer.

Garcia and Winston agreed that having multiple services in one location helps reduce stress and simplifies transactions for the client, as well as the agent.

"Everything fits together so well," Winston said. "When you have in-house convenience, it makes transactions go so much smoother."

Spanish Trail Realty is located at 6767 W. Tropicana Ave.
