KB sets home-buying seminars

In its effort to help first-time buyers realize their dreams of homeownership, KB Home is taking its Homebuyers Club on the road today. It will present two home-buying seminars at its Liberty at The Orchards neighborhood in the northeastern valley.

The sessions will be held at 12:30 and 2 p.m..

In addition, representatives from the builder's mortgage company will be on hand to assist with credit reports and answer questions about loan programs. A design consultant also will be available, and a clown will entertain children.

Michael and Mia De Guzmann recently graduated from the builder's Homebuyers Club and purchased a home at Liberty at Silverado Ranch.

"We did not anticipate being ready to purchase our very first home so soon after joining the Homebuyers Club. After only months of following suggested steps from our KB Home counselor we bought our first home," Michael De Guzmann said.

Featuring homes priced from the low $100,000s, the Liberty series is popular with first-time buyers, according to builder executive Leah Bryant.

"Every year more and more families are priced out of the housing market," Bryant said. "Liberty makes homeownership possible for many of these families."

The neighborhood has eight floor plans, four of which are modeled. They range from 692 to 1,486 square feet and are priced from the low $100,000s to the low $130,000s. The one- and two-story designs offer two to four bedrooms, 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths, and one-car garages.

The builder is offering as much as $3,000 in upgrades and options for those who purchase a home by the end of February.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Charleston Boulevard, go east to Tree Line Drive and turn south. For those unable to attend the classes, the Homebuyers Club and Homefinding Center are located at the builder's at 7440 S. Industrial Road.
