Anthem Country Club hosts fitness activities, special events

     Del Webb Corp.'s Anthem Country Club in Henderson offers several amenities and activities in a resort-style setting, according to fitness director Pam Raby.
      Raby, a company employee since November 1994, manages programs and special events for all ages at the community's athletic club and salon.
      "We have a wealth of activities like aerobics, spinning classes, swimming, basketball, sand volleyball and tennis," Raby said.
      Many of the fitness programs are held at the community's 13,700-square-foot fitness center, while several special events are held throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
      "We go on hikes to Red Rock and Mount Charleston, and we strive to provide both physical exercise and educational experiences at the same time," Raby said.
      "Living here is a huge benefit. People really appreciate the lifestyle this community offers beyond their homes. Everything is right here.
      "For instance, we have karate and gymnastics. We also offer Kids Camp, which usually lasts all day long for a full week. During Kids Camp, we take the kids on field trips and they play golf and tennis and participate in arts and crafts. We keep them busy the entire day and hopefully they'll learn from the experiences."
      The athletic club features three pools, a spa, poolside cafe and day care. The facility also includes a salon that offers hair and nail services, facials, and massages.
      The guard-gated community offers 15 floor plans in four collections of homes, ranging from 1,275 to 5,800 square feet. Second-story, basement and casita options are offered with select plans. Many home sites are adjacent to the golf course or open areas. When complete, the country club will have about 1,600 homes.
      Homes are priced from the mid-$160,000s to more than $600,000.
      Home sites for the Renaissance Collection were recently released and will be situated adjacent to the second and third holes of the golf course. Three floor plans are offered in the series, ranging from 3,184 to 5,626 square feet and priced from $406,000 to $600,000.
      Custom-home sites are about one-half acre and range from $300,000 to more than $1 million.
      Other community amenities include a 7,300-yard, par-72 golf course, and a 33,000-square-foot clubhouse, which is scheduled to open this year.
      The country club covers about 1,000 acres of the 5,000-acre Anthem master plan, which will include a 4-acre park.
      To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past Lake Mead Drive. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
