seminar set
Consumer Credit Counseling Service and Nevada Fair Housing Center Inc. will present a series of home-buyer seminars.
Topics include the benefits of homeownership, the shopping process and Nevada law. Classes in the 12-hour course are held at the Community College of Southern Nevada Education Office, 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 32.
One English version runs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 9, 16 and 23. Sessions on other days of the week are already in progress, but repeat monthly.

Nevada Power holds
power safety meeting
Nevada Power Co. and the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association will hold a safety training class at 2 p.m. Friday in the SNHBA offices, 3685 Pecos-McLeod Interchange.
Information about electrical boxes, panels, transformers and underground electrical safety will be presented.

Step workshop
planned at UNLV
The Central California/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers will sponsor a "Step Workshop," Feb. 18-20. The venue will be the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, School of Architecture, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
The workshop is designed for interior design professionals planning to take the NCIDQ test in April. The tuition is $200 for ASID members and $265 for nonmembers.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service and Nevada State Bank will show residents who have been denied banking privileges how to re-establish a satisfactory banking relationship.
The seminar takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 (English version), and from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17 (Spanish version) in the Community College of Southern Nevada, 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 32.

The Board of Directors of the local National Association of Office and Industrial Properties chapter is sponsoring the 2000 Spotlight Awards Dinner in honor of the best commercial projects.
The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 11 in The Champagne Ballroom at Paris, Las Vegas. Mayor Oscar B. Goodman will perform as master of ceremonies.

home sales class
The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and National Association of Home Builders are sponsoring the Certified New Home Sales Professional Program in April.
The 36-hour, 12-class training program is designed to improve the performance of new-home salespersons.
The course is scheduled for April 3-28 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Southern Nevada School of Real Estate, 3441 W. Sahara Ave. It is approved by the state of Nevada for 18 hours of continuing education credits.
