Perma-Bilt Homes is celebrating the opening of its Shadow Hills Club today with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Festivities include tours of the facility, entertainment and refreshments.
"This completion of the Shadow Hills Club marks a major milestone at our Shadow Hills community, where more than 400 homes have been sold to date," Daniel Schwartz, president of Perma-Bilt Homes, said. "We have developed a ... community with great appeal, and the Shadow Hills Club really showcases our efforts."
The 51,000-square-foot facility is available for the exclusive use of community residents and their guests.
Outdoor amenities include a half basketball court, putting green, barbecue and picnic areas, a swimming pool, spa, and lap pool. Inside are equipped workout rooms, an aerobics area, locker rooms, saunas, a recreation room, big-screen television, fireplaces, meeting areas and a full kitchen.
Steve Thomasson, director of the club, has planned several activities, such as weight-training classes, bridge groups, a putting contest and a children's scrapbook party.
"Our goal is to offer programs that appeal to our residents," Thomasson said. "In the next few months, I will be working with residents to determine the types of activities they'd like to see offered at the club and then work to develop programming that's consistent with their requests."
The club rounds out the amenities at the community, which include tree-lined streets, walking paths with rest stops and a tree-lined median on Cheyenne Avenue.
"We are developing what is truly the last great parcel of land in this area of northwest Las Vegas," Schwartz said. "The location is just east of the Cheyenne offramp to the (Las Vegas) Beltway, scheduled for completion late this year; in the heart of the Lone Mountain master plan; and at 800 feet above the valley floor, offers some great views of the city."
Shadow Hills is a 250-acre community at the base of Lone Mountain in the northwestern valley. Buyers can choose from four neighborhoods, which feature a combined 16 model homes.
Stonecliff offers single- and two-story floor plans ranging from 941 to 1,558 square feet and priced from about $110,000.
Belle Crest features four floor plans, ranging from 1,362 to 2,363 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and a three-car garage. Prices start from the low $130,000s.
Grandview is a gated neighborhood of all single-story homes that range from 1,736 to 2,460 square feet with five bedrooms and a three-car garage. Prices start from the low $170,000s.
Timberline homes range from 2,895 to 3,828 square feet with seven bedrooms and options for an office, casita and studio. Prices start at $217,950.
The Lone Mountain master plan includes walking trails, proposed baseball and soccer fields, neighborhood parks, retail and commercial development, proposed fire and police stations, and proposed public schools. A major component of the plan is Lone Mountain Park, which features a playground, picnic facilities, tennis courts and lawns.
To visit Shadow Hills, take U.S. Highway 95 to Cheyenne Avenue and head west. Model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Tuesday, when they open at 11 a.m.Sunday, February 6, 2000 aPage 1M
