When American Nevada Co. introduced The District at Green Valley Ranch, the response among prospective tenants was overwhelming, according to Charles Van Geel, senior director of office leasing for the company. He said a strong demand for retail space in the center was anticipated, but interest in office space above the shops surpassed the company's expectations.
"We had solid commitments for the entire 24,700 square feet of available office-over-retail space within two months of opening, and all of those commitments were converted to signed leases shortly after," Van Geel said. "These companies were thrilled with the concept and the energy of The District --- from the small-town Main Street ambience to the city views, shops, restaurants, entertainment attractions and condominiums."

The 30-acre complex opened in April 2004 at Interstate 215 and Green Valley Parkway in Henderson. It encompasses 400,000 square feet.
"Businesses continue to be attracted to this area by the vast amenities of The District, the size and demographic profile of the surrounding population base, the quality of the available housing (and) immediate freeway access," Van Geel said.
