Dragon Gate offers luxury, hillside living

Dragon Gate is a ridge of exclusive hillside lots in the luxury development of MacDonald Highlands.

The neighborhood's high elevation provides views of the Las Vegas Valley and its mountain ranges, with custom-home sites intended for multilevel estates.

"Half of Dragon Gate had already been sold before construction of this neighborhood even began," developer Rich MacDonald said. "Our buyers were looking for outstanding views and creativity with their home designs ..."

Three upper-hillside lots are still available; the largest at nearly one-acre. Three stepped-lots, which average one-half acre each, also are available.

Terracing of the lower lots is nearing completion, as is construction of utilities and pavement of the roads, which is slated for completion within six months. Landscaping within a 10-foot easement will adorn the bottom lower-home sites.

The MacDonald Highlands master plan offers four custom-home neighborhoods -- Palisades, Glenbrook Canyon, Dragon Gate and Stone Mountain Ridge. The neighborhoods offer one-half to more than two-acre parcels with a wide range of custom-home options.

Home site prices begin at $950,000. Luxury homes within the gated community start at $1.4 million.

DragonRidge Country Club is a private, 18-hole championship course. Its clubhouse features a formal dining room, lounges, grand ballroom, fitness facility, swimming pool and golf pro shop.

Three neighborhood parks will encompass 10 acres and offer tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds and picnic facilities.

The community will offer 5 miles of walking trails and provide access to nature trails into the surrounding McCullough Mountains.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Valle Verde and travel south to the corner of Valle Verde Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open daily. For more information or for a tour, call 614-9100.
