It was the lush landscaping and the remote feeling of Rhodes Ranch, according to Bill Terry, that led him to buy a home in the southwest valley golf course community.
"I was being transferred to Neiman Marcus Las Vegas from San Francisco," said Terry, vice president and general manager for the upscale retail store. "I flew down and met with a Realtor who brought me to Rhodes Ranch. I knew from the beginning the community was going to be the perfect fit. Since I was used to having parks and green space in San Francisco, I found that Rhodes Ranch fulfilled this need in Las Vegas."

Residents have access to amenities which include the signature Ted Robinson Jr.-designed, 18-hole golf course and the community's social and recreational center, the R-Club. The community is guard-gated with 24-hour roving security patrols.
"I love that my home overlooks the golf course," Terry said. "This community really offers something for everyone. I enjoy riding through the neighborhoods on the weekends and I am excited about the tennis courts that are going to open soon. Rhodes Homes has really tried to create a place where residents can thrive and find something to do within the master-planned community."
Terry and his family make use of the park areas and the scenery, often walking through to see the ducks along the green.
It is a way of community living that is as close to the California lifestyle as you can find in Las Vegas, according to Terry.
Adding to its roster of featured amenities, Rhodes Ranch has began construction on the 7-acre Fun Zone water park.
To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Durango Drive, then go south to Rhodes Ranch Parkway. The sales offices and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
