Exec: Grandview's single-story plans prove popular

Home buyers in the market for a single-story home in the northwestern valley are discovering Perma-Bilt Homes' Grandview neighborhood in Shadow Hills, according to the builder.

Priced from the $170,000s, the neighborhood offers four single-story floor plans, ranging from 1,763 to 2,460 square feet.

"Grandview features ranch-style homes ... which we've found are popular with today's maturing population who are seeking single-story designs with amenities they're accustomed to," Ruth Ochoa, vice president of sales and marketing, said.

"In addition, the homes are also popular with professional and young families who have also discovered the convenience of a single-story home design and recognize the value of living in an all single-story home community."

The Lone Mountain plan measures 1,763 square feet with three bedrooms, two baths and a split three-car garage. The third bedroom can be built as an optional den, while a separate one-car garage provides direct access to the kitchen and can be converted to a casita.

The Desert Flower offers 1,937 square feet with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, and a kitchen with a breakfast nook and an adjoining family room. The third bedroom can be built as a den.

The 2,103-square-foot Sun Rise has four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, an island kitchen with an adjoining family room, and an optional den; while the City Lights plan measures 2,460 square feet and offers four bedrooms, an optional fifth bedroom and den, 2 1/2 baths, a breakfast nook, covered patio, and a built-in media niche and fireplace in the family room.

Residents have access to the Shadow Hills Club, a 4,500-square-foot recreation facility with a clubhouse with a big-screen television, fireplace and kitchen. Fitness facilities include a weight room, aerobics area, locker rooms, swimming pools, a spa, saunas, basketball court, putting green and barbecue area.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Cheyenne Avenue and go west. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
