Palisades features hillside homes at MacDonald Highlands
Custom lots at Palisades, a neighborhood within MacDonald Highlands in Henderson, offer city, mountain and golf course views. Six of the neighborhood's 40 lots remain and are priced from $276,000 to $363,000. The neighborhood will consist of one- and two-story custom homes on parcels ranging from one-half acre to three-quarters of an acre. "Palisades is one of our most popular neighborhoods, in part because it offers so many diverse custom lot choices," said Rich MacDonald, the community's developer. "Both hillside and more traditional flat home sites are available with a variety of outstanding views." Several homes are under construction at the neighborhood, including MacDonald's, which is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in March. "There is no other neighborhood in Southern Nevada like Palisades," MacDonald said. "We are proud of the fact that it is the first local neighborhood to feature several terraced hillside homes. It really is a sight to see these homes blend into the hillside high above the valley floor." The community, which will contain about 560 homes within its two square miles upon completion, will host the 2002 Street of Dreams luxury housing tour. Seven neighborhoods are under development, with custom lots ranging from one-third acre to more than 2 acres and priced from the $150,000s to more than $2 million. The community's central amenity is DragonRidge, a private golf and country club. Designed by Jay Morrish and David Druzisky, the course was the site of last October's Tiger Jam golf clinic and tournament, hosted by Tiger Woods. Plans include trails and three community parks, which will encompass about 10 acres with tennis and volleyball courts, play areas and picnic facilities. The first park was completed last month. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive, turn south and proceed to Horizon Ridge Parkway. Sales offices are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
