Bay Area couple relocates to Sun City Anthem

Bill and Sue Simecka, a couple from the San Francisco Bay area, relocated to Sun City Anthem and found it was a great place to "keep active." The Simeckas also say they enjoy the shows, restaurants and weather in Las Vegas.

"We feel like we're living in our own kingdom here," Sue Simecka said. "When we were at the New Year's Eve party at Anthem Center enjoying the fabulous food, live music and dancing, Bill and I just looked at each other and remarked about how lucky we are to be living in this community."

The age-qualified community by Del Webb Corp. features Anthem Center, a 75,000-square-foot recreation center and fitness facility, which the Simeckas use often.

Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, open to the public and located within the center, offers views of the Strip and is a favorite of the Simeckas.

The restaurant also overlooks the The Revere at Anthem Golf Club, where Bill Simecka said he plans to start golfing. Sue Simecka wants to get involved with the Arts and Crafts Club and swim more in the center's indoor pool, as well as sign-up for dance lessons. She is already a member of the Sewing Club.

"There is so much to do, and we find out about everything in the Spirit," Sue Simecka said, referring to the community's newsletter.

The Simeckas purchased the Cambridge model, which measures 1,996 square feet with two bedrooms plus a den, two baths, a great room, breakfast nook and utility room. Also featured is a covered patio, two-car garage and cart area.

The community offers 15 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the community's Gold Key program. Prices start from the high $130,000s to more than $500,000.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. The models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
