MacDonald Highlands schedules open house in Henderson
Custom estates showcase latest in luxury design, dècor in desert southwest setting
Four custom estate homes will be open for viewing today at MacDonald Highlands, a luxury development in Henderson. Each residence was constructed by a different builder and a range of styles are showcased. The single- and two-story homes will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.

El Mirador, which translates to The Lookout, terraces up a hillside with views of the Las Vegas Valley. At 7,170 square feet, the four-bedroom home is designed around a swimming pool, 6-foot waterfall and pond with floating terraces. A curved staircase or elevator leads to the master suite. Disappearing walls, floor-to-ceiling butted glass, stone accents, a theater and casita are also included. It is priced at $3.25 million.
Grand Melange embraces a contemporary design and is situated on the private DragonRidge Country Club with views of the golf course, its clubhouse, a mountain and the city. The 8,376-square-foot residence is under construction and will include art niches, silk wall coverings and glass chandeliers. It will offer five bedrooms, a great room with a sunken bar, a gourmet kitchen with a baking station, and a theater room. The price is $3.95 million.
The 5,825-square-foot La Estancia is a horseshoe-shaped estate which wraps around a private courtyard with multiple patios and a beach-entry swimming pool. Features include a three-room master suite, two secondary bedrooms and a separate casita. The kitchen with its center island is decorated in cherry-colored cabinetry with slabs of green granite. Art niches, coffered ceilings and marble columns are featured throughout. Unique to the home are doors that tilt in at the top to allow ventilation without being unlocked. It is priced at $2.65 million.
Mira Bella is a Tuscan-themed estate accented with wrought iron, stonework and spice-colored cabinetry. Arches, circular columns, coffered ceilings and recessed lighting are included throughout the 7,430-square-foot residence. Viewed from nearly all rooms in the estate is the backyard swimming pool with a rockery waterfall. Interior highlights include four bedrooms, a separate casita, theater room, office/library, and family room with fireplace and full wetbar. The home is priced at $2.9 million.
An information center for the gated community is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Valle Verde Drive and go south to Horizon Ridge. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
