Pardee touts energy efficiency at Shadow Mountain Ranch

Pardee Homes is offering residences in the Shadow Mountain Ranch neighborhoods of Cheyenne and Montana that exceed national energy efficiency standards by at least 30 percent, according to the builder.

Every Shadow Mountain Ranch home has earned the ComfortWise designation and the Energy Star seal of the Environmental Protection Agency, according to Pardee executive Rob Tuvell.

"Thanks to low-emissivity windows, high-performance heating and cooling systems, tightly sealed air ducts and other innovations, Shadow Mountain home buyers should see energy savings in summer and winter," he said.

ComfortWise was created by ConSol, and Pardee is one of several Southern Nevada home builders to use the program, according to Phil Mestler, a representative of ConSol's ComfortWise/Energy Star program.

"The EPA estimates that a typical Energy Star home would average hundreds of dollars a year in savings over the same home built to the National Energy Standards," Mestler said. "The Energy Star program is a national, voluntary program that is becoming better known as energy efficiency moves higher on the home buyers' list of priorities."

The Montana neighborhood features four one- and two-story homes measuring from 2,443 to 3,468 square feet. Priced from $225,950 to $255,450, floor plans include as many as six bedrooms, four baths and an optional four-car garage in two plans. Additional options include a bonus room, library, den and tech center.

Cheyenne offers four one- and two-story choices that feature family rooms, island kitchens and owner suites. The homes measure from 1,383 to 2,422 square feet with four bedrooms, three baths, a bonus room and three-car garage. Prices start from $155,450 to $197,450.

To visit Shadow Mountain Ranch, take Tropicana Avenue to Grand Canyon Drive and go south.

The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
