Siena community unveils Portofino Collection
Siena, an age-qualified community in southwestern Summerlin, recently unveiled four villa designs from its Portofino Collection. The nearly 500 people who attended the recent grand opening festivities not only got the first look at the villas, but they also were entertained by a live band and entered into drawings for gift certificates to a home improvement store and home furnishing store. "Guests who attended the grand opening were most impressed by both the layouts of the floor plans and the interior designs of the villas," said Paul Smith, senior vice president and Siena project manager. Described by developer Sunrise Colony Co. as "paired homes," the collection's four floor plans are priced from $143,900 to $167,500. Plan 4110 measures 1,040 square feet and includes one bedroom and 1 1/2 baths. Its den can be converted into an optional second bedroom and the one-half bath can be enlarged to include an optional shower. Plan 4120 includes one bedroom, two baths, and a den or optional second bedroom. The 1,180-square-foot home is priced from $152,000. At 1,288 square feet, Plan 4130 offers one bedroom and two baths with similar customizing options as Plan 4120. The home is priced from $160,300. The largest design, Plan 4140, is a 1,378-square-foot home with two bedrooms, two baths, and options to add a closet in the standard den or to enlarge the second bedroom. Standard features include private entries, rear yards with covered patios, 8-foot single-entry doors with covered porches, owner suites with walk-in closets and showers, built-in appliances, and recessed lighting in the kitchen. Finished two-car garages and individual curbside mail service are also provided. "The Portofino Collection offers buyers the opportunity to live in our community and enjoy all of the amenities, but in a home that is slightly smaller and perhaps more convenient for single residents, part-time residents and out-of-town owners," Smith said. In addition to the villas, the 665-acre community features single-story floor plans measuring from 1,040 to more than 3,100 square feet and priced from the $170,000s to the $650,000s. Residents have access to a variety of recreational and social activities, including golf, swimming, dancing, bocce ball, tennis, crafts and clubs. An 18-hole, par-72, daily-fee golf course winds through the community. Designed by Schmidt and Curley, the course is open to all ages and provides Siena residents preferred rates and tee times. A 13,500-square-foot golf clubhouse, which is under construction with completion scheduled for late spring/early summer, will feature a golf shop, locker rooms and casual dining. The community's 15,900-square-foot fitness center features an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool and spa; an outdoor pool and spa; lighted tennis and bocce ball courts; cardiovascular and weight-training equipment; exercise rooms; and private saunas and steam rooms. There is also a wellness center run by Summerlin Hospital, and a full-service beauty salon and day spa. Another amenity is its social center, which is home to a computer lab, billiards, game and card rooms, ceramics and a sewing center. The facility, which features an on-site activities manager, is also the setting for a variety of classes and club gatherings, ranging from ballroom dancing to watercolor painting. To visit, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive and go south to Siena Monte Avenue. The model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin.
