FOR THE RECORD: Olson named lead marketer for Tuscany



-- Commerce Associates, developer of the 2,000-home Tuscany golf course community in Henderson, has named Dave Olson of Olson Marketing lead marketing consultant for the project.

-- Las Ventanas, a life-care community to be built in Summerlin, has appointed Rod Tucker marketing representative and retirement counselor. Tucker previously was associated with Seville Vegas Inc. and Regis USA.

-- Xavier Wasiak has been named vice president of GVA Industrial Property Group. Wasiak most recently served as vice president of Colliers International.

-- The Economic Opportunity Board of Clark County has selected architect Melvin Green of Clifton A. Marshall/ Melvin Green Ltd. to design a 10-unit transitional housing project and resident park to be built at E Street and Adams Avenue in Las Vegas. Each unit in the $740,000 project will have one bedroom and one bath in 600 square feet.

-- Citing data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Department of Housing and Urban Development reports that at year-end 2001 there were a record 72.6 million homeowners in the United States compared to 1995, when the total was 64.7 million. Minority homeownership also entered record territory last year at 49 percent compared to 43.7 percent in 1995.

-- Charles Creigh and Ted Baker of NewMarket Commercial Real Estate Advisors represented Costco Wholesale in its sale of 110,000 square feet at 1080 W. Sunset Road in Henderson to Equity VI for $9 million.

-- Jackie Young and Edwin Caldito of The Equity Group represented Thorndike Properties in its 60-month lease of 1,800 square feet at Victory Village, located at 282 E. Lake Mead Drive, to Mostafa Sheta for $193,104. In another transaction, Judi A. Woodyard represented both parties in General Motors - RMC and ESEA Health Trust's 36-month lease of 27,000 square feet at 5740 S. Eastern Ave. in McCarran Corporate Plaza to Nevada College of Pharmacy for $1.7 million.

-- GVA Industrial Property Group's Dean Willmore and Al Kingham represented CB Enterprises in its sale of 32,250 square feet at 3443 Losee Road in North Las Vegas to Roberts Ranch Venture for $1.7 million.

-- Lee and Associates' Scott Owens represented Holiday Meats in a 60-month lease of 5,975 square feet at 480 Mirror Court, Suite 101, from Harsch Investment Properties for $180,196. Mel Koich and Owens represented Nordstrom in its 11.5-month lease of 21,120 square feet at 2951 Marion Drive, Suite 121, from DP Operating Partnership, represented by CB Richard Ellis' Kevin Higgins and Kyle Eigenman, for $87,437. David Flynn and Charles W. Witters represented Longford Plaza in an 84-month, 6,928-square-foot lease at 3137 E. Warm Springs Road to Facility, represented by Tim Cummings of Keller Williams, for $1.2 million.

-- Hendricks & Partners' Brian Anderson and Carl Sims represented both parties in JTJ Management's sale of the Island Club, a 409-unit apartment complex at 3700 E. Bonanza Road, to Virtu Investments of Scottsdale, Ariz., for $16.6 million.

-- Soozi Jones Walker of Realty Executives of Nevada represented ND Partners in its five-year lease of 1,220 square feet at 8665 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 112, to Somadasa Nanyakkara and Tansuke Thanki, represented by Michael Page of Century 21 Aadvantage Gold, for $101,587.

-- CB Richard Ellis' Bill Dunbar and Jeanene McClenahan represented Charleston Auto Care Plaza in its 10-year lease of 3,007 square feet at 10177 W. Charleston Blvd. to European House for $760,000. Donna Alderson represented Floor Specialist in its five-year lease of 3,758 square feet at 5565 S. Decatur Blvd. from WesTech Business Center for $179,000.

-- Mike Dunn and Charles Van Geel of American Nevada Corp. represented the company in its five-year lease of 36,844 square feet at 2500 Paseo Verde Parkway to IDC Ltd., represented by Randy Broadhead of CB Richard Ellis, for $2.9 million. In another transaction, American Nevada Corp.'s Richard Green represented the company in its five-year lease of 4,000 square feet at 4300 E. Sunset Road in Green Valley Town Center to Eden Salon for $509,700.

-- NAI Americana Commercial's Kathy Campbell represented George S. May International in its purchase of a 13,750-square-foot building at 3750-3760 S. Jones Blvd. from ALN for $1.7 million. In another transaction, Penny J. Mendlovic represented Quizno's Classic Subs in its 72-month lease of 1,375 square feet at City Centre Place, 400 S. Fourth St., Suite 107, from City Centre Place, represented by Rhonda Panciro of Intown Office, for $259,875.

-- Marcus & Millichap's Tom Hedgecock represented Deer Spring Conough and Big Sky Development in their sale of the 272-unit Deer Springs Apartment Homes at 7855 Deer Springs Way to St. Louis-based Bellefontaine Quarry, represented by Christopher Bentley, for $20 million.

-- Colliers International's Daniel Doherty, Brian Pankratz and Jennifer Kilpatrick and Harsch Investment's Ralph Murphy represented Harsh Investment Properties in its purchase of 42.08 acres at the northeast corner of Warm Springs Road and Eastgate Road in Henderson from The Landwell Co. for $5.7 million. Doherty, Pankratz, Kilpatrick and Harsch Investment's Margie Campobasso again represented Harsch Investment Properties in its 36-month lease of 13,300 square feet at 451 Mirror Court in Henderson to Metalwest for $197,328. Doherty, Pankratz and Kilpatrick represented Milgard Manufacturing in its purchase of 10.72 acres at the northeast corner of Eastgate Road and Commercial Way in Henderson from The Landwell Co. for $1.9 million.

-- Mike Dunn and Charles Van Geel of American Nevada Corp. represented the company in its five-year lease of 40,000 square feet at 2270 Corporate Circle in Green Valley Corporate Center to PBS&J, represented by Randy Broadhead of CB Richard Ellis, for $3.45 million.
