Association managers form group
A group of community association management company executives in Nevada have formed Community Association Management Executive Officers Inc., a nonprofit corporation designed to further the professionalism and education of its members. "There are many community associations in Nevada, and most of them hire a management company to help them run the community effectively," said Schulman & Grode's Sara Barry, executive director of CAMEO. "There are many laws that have come, or will come, into effect that will determine how we should best guide the communities managed in Nevada. We all want to provide the best service to our clients, and with CAMEO we are able to join together for education and ideas." Katherine Grimes, president of CAMEO and chief of Terra West Property Management, agreed. "Our industry is changing rapidly, and we need a forum where we can meet to discuss ideas and new legislation in our continuing effort to keep ourselves educated about everything involving community association management," Grimes said. Charter members of the organization include representatives from Terra West Property Management, CAMCO, Raven Management, Advantage Community Management, Associated Management Inc., Benchmark, Century 21 Solutions, Colonial Property Management, Eugene Burger Management, The Floyd Group, Horizon, Jensen Management, Real Properties Management Group, RMI, Taylor Association Management, Thoroughbred Management and TMC Realty. In addition to Barry and Grimes, charter officers are: Pat Taylor, Taylor Association Management, vice president; Betty Ravendo, Raven Management, secretary; and Bill Locatelli, CAMCO, treasurer. Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month. For detailed information about membership, educational seminars or meeting locations, contact CAMEO by e-mail at cameoexec@aol.com.
