Father, son win HDTV at drawing at Hampton Glen neighborhood

While visiting Lennar's Hampton Glen and Arbor Ridge in Providence, a northwestern master-planned community, Kenneth Coburn and son Steven, 12, won the builder's weekly drawing of a 42-inch plasma HDTV and spa certificate.

"I thought one of my friends was playing a practical joke when Rene (Rene Merlau, Lennar marketing manager) called," Coburn said. "It took a minute or two for it to register that we had won the plasma TV and spa certificate. Needless to say we are thrilled."

Coburn is a senior group underwriter for Sierra Health Services. His wife, Linda, works at Nellis Air Force Base.

The Coburns were visiting homes in the builder's gated, northwest neighborhoods which feature the builder's Everything's Included (EI) program.

EI features are included in the price of the home and provide refrigerator, microwave and washer and dryer. Also included are window coverings, front-yard landscaping and granite kitchen countertops.

Prices in Arbor Ridge start in the $200,000s. The neighborhood offers four two-story home designs, measuring 1,450 to 1,804 square feet. Each floor plan features three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage.

Hampton Glen homes are priced in the $300,000s. The four two-story floor plans range from 1,660 to 2,161 square feet.

The Coburns were attracted to Plan 1823 at Hampton Glen. The four-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath home is a split-level design with a two-car garage. The great-room is highlighted by a large window seat on the entry landing and features under-stairwell storage, art shelves and niches.

The family is considering Lennar's Barrington neighborhood, also within Providence.

"We were impressed by the two-story Sequoia floor plan at Barrington," Coburn said, "because it offered us a large loft on the second floor, which Steven could enjoy as his own space."

The Sequoia includes 2,421 square feet with four bedrooms, three baths and a two-car garage.

The home's first floor features formal living and dining rooms, a family room with fireplace, kitchen with a work island, an informal dining nook with a bay window pop-out and a bedroom and full bath.

"We like the flexibility of the Sequoia design," Coburn said. Prices start in the $300,000s.

Lennar also offers Westminster at Providence, featuring single- and two-story homes measuring from 3,131 to 4,481 square feet. Prices start at the $500,000s.

Arbor Ridge, Hampton Glen and Barrington homes are Energy Star-certified.

Providence is a 1,200-acre master plan. When completed it will include tree-lined promenades and community parks, with soccer and baseball fields, tennis and volleyball courts and a children's, playground.

The area is near shopping and restaurants. In addition to the existing Centennial High School, land has been earmarked for two elementary schools and one middle school.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to the Hualapai Way Exit and turn north on Hualapai to Elkhorn Road. Then turn left (west) on Elkhorn.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Wednesday when it closes at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday when it closes at 6 p.m
