-- The Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design elected its 2004 officers; the chairman is Larry D. Tindall, a residential designer, and the secretary/treasurer is Greg L. Erny, an architect. Other members of the board are: Judith H. Fermoile (registered interior designer), George F. Garlock (architect), Larry A. Henry (architect), Susan Hobbes (architect), John R. Klai II (architect), JoAnn Oppenheimer Gore (public member) and Derrell Parker (registered interior designer).

-- Orgill/Singer & Associates, Insurance & Investments broke ground on a 26,000-square-foot office building in the Great American Plaza at 8360 W. Sahara Ave. Completion is expected in February or March.

-- The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors has asked its members to bring toiletry items, baby items, office supplies and household items to its offices by Feb. 20 during its "Heart to Heart" drive. A goal of 500 donated items has been set, and they will be distributed to the Shade Tree, Safe Nest and HELP of Southern Nevada.

-- The Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties has unveiled a new Web site, which can be accessed at www.naiopnv.org.

-- JMA Architecture Studios appointed Larry Staples as business development manager for its Healthcare Studio division. Staples has been the lead architect in the design of hospitals and healthcare facilities.

-- Harsch Investment Properties named Mindy S. Leigh as retail portfolio manager; she oversees the leasing and management of the company's retail portfolio in Las Vegas. The company also appointed Jenny Peterson to the position of assistant leasing representative; she is responsible for assisting in the leasing of retail space at The Center at Spring Mountain. It also named Tasha Blackburn as a leasing assistant; she is responsible for marketing, leasing and renewals of commercial, industrial and retail office/warehouse space for The Center at Spring Mountain.

-- GVA Industrial Property Group's Richard Luciani and Bill Walsh represented the Den Dooven Family Trust in its sale of 17,426 square feet at 2901 S. Industrial Road to Cornell Corrections of California for $1.32 million. In another transaction, Bill Walsh represented Fastenal in its four-year lease of 3,600 square feet at 5270 S. Arville St. from Bedford Property Investors for $152,203.

-- Shawn Barashy of Lee & Associates represented RSA Supply in its 38-month lease of 14,400 square feet at 4031 Industrial Center Drive from Prologis, represented by Donna Alderson and Jeremy Green, for $187,000.

-- Jim Zetier and Danny Mulcahy of Insight Realty Associates represented Cheyenne F in the sale of 10,545 square feet at Cheyenne West Corporate Center, located at 3031 Coleman St., to Henry and Elfriede Walpuski for $815,000.

-- Ross Burnett of Business Properties Group represented the company in its 60-month lease of 1,634 square feet at 1550 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite C, to Suntan Alley, represented by Donna Billiter of Liberty Realty, for $183,519.

-- CB Richard Ellis' Bill Dunbar and Lisa Callahan represented JLS Las Vegas in the purchase of 10 acres at the northeast corner of Durango Drive and Warm Springs Road from Mother for $5 million. Keith Spencer represented Thomas and Richard Arsulich in the sale of 2.18 acres at the northwest corner of Horizon Ridge Parkway and Annet Street to B&B Asset Management for $400,000. Randy Broadhead and Brad Peterson represented State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. in its sale of 13,138 square feet at 3210 E. Tropicana Ave. to William Ruch for $2 million.

-- Nelson Tressler of Grubb & Ellis represented Pacific Castle Charleston in its five-year lease of 1,112 square feet at 10217 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite B, to Tea Centric, represented by Eric Berggren, for $180,689. In another transaction, Michael Kammerling represented Lake Mead Horizon in its sale of 15.23 acres at the southeast corner of Seven Hills Drive and St. Rose Parkway to S&R Equities, which was represented by Al Barbagallo, for $5.72 million.

-- Colliers International's Dan Doherty, Stacy Dinkel and Brian Pankratz represented Harsch Investment Properties in the 62-month lease of 6,516 square feet at 480 Mirror Court, Suite 103, in Henderson, to Scher's Superior Tire, represented by Soozi Jones Walker of Realty Executives, for $200,268. Doherty, Dinkel and Pankratz again represented Harsch in its 61-month lease of 15,622 square feet at 3221 Polaris Ave. to Outdoor Kitchen Concepts for $366,528. Doherty, Dinkel and Pankratz also represented Pilkington North America in its 60-month lease of 11,344 square feet at 3205 Polaris Ave. from Harsch Investment Properties for $322,012. Doherty, Pankratz and Dinkel also represented Harsch in its 62-month lease of 34,300 square feet at 451 Mirror Court, Suite 101, in Henderson, to Phoenix Door Manufacturing Co., which was represented by Xavier Wasiak of Grubb & Ellis, for $734,682. Brian Riffel represented LAACO in its purchase of 5 acres at the northwest corner of Eastern Avenue and El Dorado Way from SCP for $2.07 million.
